Information about S-3 EZ Foam

EZE-Foam, is made from EVA (Ethylene Vinyle Acetate) a synthetic used in everything from padding in football and hockey helmets to padding in shoes. While there are other manufacturers of this material for the car wash industry, many use stock  “off the shelf” material for their foam wash products. S-3, however, has established its own specs for the EVA used in EZE-Foam, formulated for the specialized needs and use in a car washing environment.

Mounting: Usually EZ Foam is sold with plastic “EZ Out” bracket or Sewn in Rod.

EVA is measured in density; EZE-Foam is generally 10-12# density. The denser the material used, the more rubbery the product. Too high a density will result in material that whips onto the cars surface making noise or more likely to catch onto mirrors or loose molding.

S-3 currently supplies EZ Foam to:

Autec, Hanna, NuStar, Econocraft, D&S, Brite O Matic and the list is growing.

What are the benefits?

Light weight will put less stress on bearings and motors.

Colorful and remains that way longer than cloth.

Will not freeze.

No Marks.

No more need to secure rear windshield wipers.

Will last a minimum of 2 to 3 times longer than cloth.(depending on how “aggressive” the equipment is – how fast it spins etc.)

Minimize damage to mirrors or wipers.

Can EZE-Foam fit all types of equipment?

In general, any equipment that uses “c” channels or “loop over” fittings can be retrofitted with EZE Foam.

In some cases new hubs might have to be ordered so that EZE-foam will fit or if existing hubs might be worn and corroded. Hubs generally last 6 - 10 years depending on wear and tear, exposure to elements and chemicals. Hubs are available through S-3 and run from $100 – 300.

EXCEPTION: Currently mitters require material that is denser and heavier than EZE-Foam and similar materials. Used in the first mitters of the wash is NOT recommended.  However, for use on the mitters after triple coat or foam polish is applied could be recommended since the purpose at that point is not to clean as much as it is to spread. In fact the EZE-Foam will help squeegee some of the foam off and help the car rinse better.

NOTE: S-3 is now developing foam for use in all mitters.

Procedure to place order:

Customer completes and submits S-3 order form. Jobe will forward it to S-3 for review and pricing. S-3 will present Jobe a quoted price that includes freight to customer. Jobe will invoice the customer for payment in advance –OR if necessary accept payment with credit card through S-3. (any discounts are subject to applicability of Jobe’s incentive rewards program)

Once payment clears, the order will be shipped.
